The only Way of salvation

During the month of October, we have been reading together the book of Acts and our memory verse has been from Acts 4:12.
"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved."
The apostles, Peter and John had just performed a miracle in the name of Jesus, they healed a man crippled from birth.
The religious leaders (the same ones who had Jesus crucified) had now brought Peter and John before the Sanhedrin and asked the apostles,
"By what power or by what name have you done this?"
Peter's message was direct and clear:
"There is no other name under heaven ..... by which you must be saved."
These leaders were rejecting the very means by which they themselves could be saved.
Even today, we have to choose which path we are going to follow. If we are going on a journey to somewhere we have not been before, would we just head there and hope for the best, or would we follow a map or satnav?
Many people today would like to think that all roads lead us to God, or if we do good, we will all get there somehow. But that is not what Jesus taught.
If God and the Bible have made a clear way for us to find eternal life, why would we reject that way and try and find another?
Jesus is the only way, there is no other road to heaven, no other way to the Father.
So, how do we follow Jesus today? The same way the apostles did long ago. They heard the words of Jesus and believed them. They took his words and obeyed them. They confessed their sins. They believed that Jesus died to take the punishment of their sins and rose from the dead to give them new life. They followed His example and command to tell others about Jesus.
When we follow Him in "the way" we can be assured of following Him all the way to heaven.
How amazing is that!
God bless.
